About this BMR calculator

Basal metabolic rate (BMR) is the minimum energy your body needs at complete rest. This tool uses the widely recommended Mifflin-St Jeor equation based on sex, age, height and weight; total daily energy expenditure TDEE = BMR × activity factor, with five levels from sedentary to extremely active (1.2–1.9).

Alongside TDEE, the tool lists reference calorie targets: weight loss (about −500 kcal/day, roughly 0.45 kg per week), maintenance, and weight gain (+500 kcal/day). Needs vary from person to person — results are for general reference only and are not medical advice. All calculations run locally in your browser.
