About this Base64 tool
Type plain text on the left and it is encoded to Base64 in real time; paste Base64 on the right and it is decoded straight back — the two sides stay in sync in both directions. Text is UTF-8 encoded to bytes before conversion, so Chinese, emoji and other multi-byte characters round-trip correctly and match standard libraries such as Python's base64 or Java's Base64.
Enable URL-safe output to replace + and / with - and _ and drop the = padding — the form URLs, JWTs and filenames expect; decoding accepts both alphabets and tolerates missing padding. Remember that Base64 is an encoding, not encryption, so never use it to protect secrets. Everything runs locally in your browser; nothing is uploaded.
