About this image ↔ Base64 tool
Direction one: pick an image and get a ready-to-paste data:image/…;base64,… Data URL for HTML, CSS or JSON, with the encoded size shown. Direction two: paste a full Data URL or a bare Base64 string — the format is detected automatically, the image is previewed, and broken input produces a clear error instead of a silent failure.
Encoding uses FileReader and decoding uses the browser's native Base64 engine; nothing is uploaded. Keep in mind Base64 inflates size by about 33% — inline small icons and decorations, but keep large photos as separate files.
